Restaurants in Vaticano/Prati

Da Cesare

Chianina beef with rughetta.

This locale in Piazza Cavour serves up various appetizing fish dishes, including mixed fried fish and seafood platters. Great saltimbocca alla romana, which for the record are veal slices (usually three small ones) topped with prosciutto and fresh sage and sautéed in white wine. The service is professional and there's outdoor sidewalk seating. Not so much a don’t-miss place as one to keep in mind after shopping or after the movies in the Piazza Cavour area. In summer, closed on Sunday as well as Monday. — Judy Edelhoff

Naboo

Heavy on very cool at Naboo.

Oh so cool, with black tables, and lots of industrial light and magic. Disco dining for the 21st century. Over 25 kinds of pizza served, including provola, speck and potatoes, and alla carbonara. Tasty stuff. Otherwise go for the risotto with pears and nuts and sesame chicken in nut sauce. Forget chit-chat unless you have good lungs. The later it gets, the drink-fueled louder. Open until about 1 a.m. — Cristina Polli

Ristorante Da Franco

Insalata di mare.

Extraordinary fresh fish at this small Calabrese restaurant. Da Franco is the perfect place for friends and family on a Sunday afternoon. Take a long lunch and sample their delicious insalata di mare and the antipasti made of gamberi, tonno, calamari, and other seafood delights. The wait staff loves making suggestions. Whatever you order, don’t forget the lemon sorbet for dessert. Yum. — Nicole Arriaga*
